Single acting pneumatic actuators

The single-acting version can be supplied with a spring closing or a spring opening. All versions, with the exception of the position indicator, are free of externally moving parts. This makes these drives very safe to use, easy to install and virtually maintenance-free. Due to the compact rack and pinion principle and the use of aluminum parts, these drives are light in weight and take up little space.

Actuators with Double Acting Pneumatic Actuators

The double-acting actuators open and close pneumatically. With the exception of the position indicator, these versions are also free of externally moving parts. This makes these drives very safe to use, easy to install and virtually maintenance-free. Due to the compact rack and pinion principle and the use of aluminum parts, these drives are light in weight and take up little space.

Single acting vs. double acting type actuator

Pneumatic actuators can therefore be single-acting or double-acting. In a double acting, the actuator has air on both sides of the piston. To open and close the valve, compressed air is sent to one side to create the desired movement. A single acting actuator, on the other hand, has an air supply on one side and uses one or more springs to return the piston to its original position. This type can focus on the function of being open or closed by default, which can be an advantage when the electricity or compressed air pressure is lost and the basic position must be maintained. The single drive further saves compressed air, while double-acting drives offer more possibilities and can achieve higher cycling speeds.
