Normally, product moves from the screen deck to an outlet positioned in the wall of the machine. With only one outlet, however, a kind of product queue forms on the way to this outlet. If the infeed is too high, the screen deck becomes overloaded and the process stops.

Product that reaches the outer edge of the screen deck no longer needs to travel to the outlet, but instead falls directly from the screen deck onto a convex base.
